Marketing for home servicebusinesses in Winnipeg.

Get found when a Winnipeg homeowner needs your trade, capture the leads you are already missing, and turn a ringing phone into booked jobs.

Your work comesfrom the same fewplaces every year.

If you run a home services or trades business in Winnipeg, your work has probably come from the same few places for years: word of mouth, repeat customers, and whoever happens to find you first when something breaks. That works, right up until a season is slow or a competitor starts showing up above you on the phone that every customer now searches from.

I help Winnipeg trades and home services businesses get found by the people already searching, capture more of those leads, and build the systems that make sure a quote does not die in someone’s inbox. You deal with me directly, not a junior account manager you never asked for.

Trades are one of the best possible fits for this work, and it is worth being specific about why. Demand is high-intent and often urgent: when someone types “furnace repair winnipeg” into their phone at 11pm in January, they are not browsing. They need a heating company right now, and they are going to call one of the first few they see.

Four systems, working together.

01

Local SEO and Google Business Profile

The map pack, those top three local results beside the map, is where most home services leads come from. I claim and fully build out your Google Business Profile and tune your site so you show up for “near me” and trade-plus-Winnipeg searches.

02

Google Ads that only pay for real leads

Paid search puts you at the top for ready-to-book searches from day one, while your organic rankings build. Call and form tracking goes in first, so every dollar is tied to a real lead rather than a click.

03

Follow-up so quotes do not die in an inbox

Most trades businesses lose more money to slow follow-up than to a shortage of leads. A missed call at 8am, a quote sent and never chased. A simple CRM and automated follow-up means every lead gets answered.

04

A repeat and referral engine

Your past customers are the cheapest work you will ever get. Email keeps you top of mind for maintenance and seasonal tune-ups, and it is the right tool for filling slow months with people who already trust you.

Know what a job is worth before you spend anything.

Most trades businesses I meet cannot say what their average job is worth or what they can afford to pay for a lead. Both numbers come out of a year of invoices in about an hour, and without them every budget decision is a guess.

The arithmetic is short. Take your average job value, multiply by the share of quotes you win, and that is what one lead is worth to you in revenue. Anything you pay under that has room in it. Anything over it means you are working for the ad platform.

That one figure changes everything downstream. It decides which searches are worth bidding on, whether a given click is expensive or cheap for you specifically, and whether it is worth answering the phone on a Sunday. I work it out with every trades client in the first week, before anything runs, because until it exists every budget conversation is two people guessing.

The first business to call back usually wins

Someone with water coming through a ceiling calls three companies. They book the first one that answers, and they stop calling after that. Every marketing dollar you spend upstream of that moment is wasted if the phone rings out and nobody calls back for four hours.

Missed-call text-back solves most of it: the caller gets a message within seconds saying you will call back. It costs almost nothing, takes an afternoon to set up, and for a lot of trades businesses it returns more than any campaign I could run. More on how that works.

Splatters was spending on radio with almost no way to see what it was doing. Since moving the budget into digital, every campaign is tracked, and what started as ads management grew into a full marketing partnership covering social, email, reporting and year-round support. Splatters is not a trade, but the shape of the business is the one most home services owners will recognise: local, seasonal, reliant on a steady flow of jobs, and far better off once the marketing is measured instead of guessed at.

“When we decided to move our marketing into digital, I wanted someone I could actually trust with the budget. Jorel’s delivered on that: every campaign is tracked, I can see exactly what’s driving traffic, and I finally have real numbers behind the spend.”

How we would start.

01

A free audit

I look at your Google Business Profile, your site and what you currently rank for, then tell you where you stand against the other trades in your area. No pitch attached.

02

Fix what is leaking

Usually the profile and the tracking, in that order. There is no point buying traffic for a page that cannot tell you whether the phone rang.

03

Turn on demand

Ads for the jobs you want now, local SEO compounding underneath, and follow-up wired up so nothing sits overnight.

04

Report in plain language

How many calls, from which searches, at what cost per booked job. Every month, in words rather than dashboards.

If you are one of these four, start here instead.

The marketing works the same way underneath. What changes is what a lead is worth, how urgent the search is, when demand arrives, and how the job closes. Those four pages go into the detail for the trades where the pattern is specific enough to write about.

  • Contractors. Long quote cycles, big jobs, and a buyer reading reviews for a week before deciding.
  • Plumbers. The 11pm emergency search, and the planned work booked weeks out. Two businesses wearing one name.
  • HVAC. Two demand spikes a year and the shoulder months almost nobody builds for.
  • Everyone else. Electricians, roofers, landscapers, cleaners and the rest. Same four systems, different order.

From Winnipeg trades businesses.

How much should a home services business spend on marketing in Winnipeg?
It comes out of your own numbers rather than a benchmark. What a booked job is worth to you, what share of quotes you win, and how much work you can take on without falling over. Those set what a lead is worth, which sets what you can afford to pay for one, and the budget falls out of that. A business whose average job is a drain clearing and one whose average job is a full replacement should not spend the same, and a figure published on a page would be wrong for both of them.
How fast will I get leads?
Google Ads can produce calls within the first week once tracking and targeting are set up properly. A well-optimized Google Business Profile often starts showing in the local map pack within a few weeks. SEO is the slower, compounding play, usually three to six months for meaningful organic traction. For most trades businesses I run ads and local SEO together, so you get near-term leads while the foundation builds.
Do I need a new website first?
Usually not. If your current site loads fast, works on a phone, and makes it obvious how to call or request a quote, we can start driving leads to it today. If it is genuinely holding you back, I will tell you straight and we will fix the specific things that matter, rather than selling you a full rebuild you do not need. The goal is booked jobs, not a website for its own sake.
What about the slow season?
The slow season is exactly where good marketing earns its keep. We use paid ads and your Google Business Profile to capture the demand that still exists in the quiet months, and email to bring past customers back for maintenance, tune-ups and off-season work. Smoothing out the winter dip is one of the most valuable things a Winnipeg trades business can do, and it is built into how I plan the year.
I have been burned by an agency before. How is this different?
You work directly with me, the person actually running your campaigns, not a junior account manager you never asked for. I keep my client list small on purpose, your ad and analytics accounts stay owned by you, and reporting is in plain language that ties spend to leads. If something is not working, I will say so and change it. No lock-in, no jargon, no disappearing act after the contract is signed.
